In 2024, The Dicky Buckle Fund supported James Bamford and local artist Hannah Fowler, who collaborated with Project Dance and Covent Garden Dance Company to create The Masterpiece.

The Masterpiece was a unique artwork created in response to a choreographed dance performance, bringing together movement and visual art in a single creative process. Developed for Ballet Under the Stars at Hatch House, the project offered audiences a different way to experience dance beyond the stage. Limited-edition prints of the work were produced and sold, with proceeds supporting charitable causes including The Dicky Buckle Fund.

James Bamford is the founder and Artistic Director of Project Dance, an arts organisation that creates original, socially driven dance theatre and develops engagement opportunities to widen access to dance. Alongside his choreographic work, James has built an impressive performance career, including roles in major commercial campaigns and a featured role as a ‘Ken dancer’ in the film Barbie. Most recently, he was the writer, producer and choreographer of Project Dance’s touring production Growing Pains, demonstrating his commitment to creating work that is both accessible and socially relevant.
