Children's Matinee, at Hatch House, followed by a Director’s Dress Rehearsal of Ballet Under The Stars.
Families and young children joined us for a magical afternoon featuring a truly special, world-class ballet performance. The event offered a rare opportunity to experience the beauty of dance up close and to spark the imagination of the next generation.
This year’s Matinée was hosted by the acclaimed James Bamford of Project Dance, alongside talented young Bahamian students who performed live on stage.
The programme included: A behind-the-scenes introduction to the magic of theatre, including lighting, music and stagecraft. Two short professional ballet performances. A lively, high-energy finale where children were invited on stage to join in the dancing
Whether the children already attended dance classes or were experiencing a live performance for the first time, the afternoon offered a wonderful opportunity to discover the joy of ballet in a fun, engaging and welcoming environment.
All proceeds supported The Dicky Buckle Fund, which champions new work by emerging choreographers, dancers and designers. Many of these works premiered at Hatch House before going on to tour nationally and internationally.
